Good
news!
I’ll
be writing a short
story for The
Mammoth Book of
Paranormal
Romance, to be
published in 2009.
I’m
looking forward to
it, and will keep
you updated.
This is the
2nd
Anthology from
Trisha Telep.
The 1st
is The Mammoth
Book of Vampire
Romance, out in
July 2008.
At
the moment I’m
working hard on
Book #1 of my new
historical series,
and trying to
finish it by the
time I fly off to
San Francisco, and
the RWA
Conference.
Last time I
was, briefly, in
San Francisco I
couldn’t see the
Golden Gate Bridge
for fog.
Fingers
crossed this time.

Outside
the weather is wet
and windy, so
I’m enjoying
snuggling up
inside, listening
to music and
catching up on my
websites and
Myspace pages.
It almost
feels like a
holiday.
So,
what’s new?
I have just
finished my latest
Sara Bennett book,
HER SECRET LOVER,
and the
publication date
is November 1.
At the
moment I am
concentrating on
my historical
books, so that
means another
delay with the
Dark Lords, and I
apologise to all
of you who have
waiting (and
waiting).
However I
am going to write
a short/long story
about an Immortal
Warrior, just to
make up for it.
This story
will be available
in print or (if
this can’t be
managed) then as a
download on this
site.
I’ll
keep you updated,
so check back.

I
have my first
short story ready
to download!
It's called THE
SORCERESS AND THE
SEA STRIDER and
you'll see it on
the Home
Page. I have
been feeling for a
while that the
Sorceress has had
a raw deal and she
deserves some
happiness, and I
also wanted to
explain how the
Dark Lords came to
be. The
first story sets
the scene and from
then on I hope to
write more, each
one continuing the
story a little
further, until my
next book is in
the shops in 2009.
Let
me know if you
enjoy it!

Phew!
It's been awhile.
I've been flat out
writing, writing,
writing. My new Sara
Bennett Victorian
Historical is due in
the shops at the end
of December 2007 - A
Seduction in
Scarlet. I've
had some
difficulties with
the Dark Lord's
series, and Avon
have decided to put
publication date
back to December
2008/January 2009.
This series is a
little different
from the Immortal
Warriors but the
hero is still from
the past - he's just
badder.
However,
I do have a short
story to download
from my website,
which should be up
around Christmas.
I've also been busy
getting up my
MySpace page for
Sara Bennett, and
soon I'll have one
for Sara Mackenzie.

I
will also be doing
an interview for PNR.
They have a feature called
Men in Kilts, to go
online 14th April in
the Paraphernalia
section.

I'm
still reeling from the
news that SECRETS OF
THE HIGHWAYMAN has
been nominated in the
paranormal section of
the RWA RITA Awards.
This feels like a
wonderful gift to me. I'm
determined to enjoy
the moment and not
wonder why this
particular book or
whether it will win or
not. I feel
privileged to be in
the company of those
other finalists.
I
will be writing a
short story staring
the Sorceress and one
of her Immortal
Warriors, and hope to
have this up on my
website later this
year. Hopefully
it will give you all
something to look
forward to while
you're waiting for the
next book to come out
(possibly July 2008).

Well,
it has been a huge month
for me. I finished
another Sara Bennett
book, to be released, I
think, in January 2008.
My next Sara Bennett,
Mistress of Scandal,
will be in the shops at
the end of March 2007.
Now it's time to think
about Sara Mackenzie.
I have some interesting
ideas for the next book,
and I know there are
lots of you out there
waiting--thank you so
much for your emails!
I am planning to go
darker for the next Sara
Mackenzie. I want
to write one of those
dark and dangerous
heroes who needs a
special kind of woman to
tame him.
I'll
keep you up to date with
the details.
In
the meantime, I've been
reading Kathryn Smith's
Night of the Huntress.
Wow! Take a look www.kathryn-smith.com

It
is always wonderful when
someone you know, who has
been working so hard
toward publication, gets
published.
Especially when that
person happens to be your
brother! So I
thought I'd share my
excitement with you all.
My brother writes short
stories, some are funny,
some sad, and some
downright spooky. He
has a book of them
published by World
Audience in New York, an
online publisher.
For anyone who is
interested (perhaps you
are an aspiring writer
yourself) here are the
details.

A Sublime Celestial Blessing
by A. G.
Bennett
Published
by World Audience in New
York
A
Sublime Celestial Blessing
is a collection of new Short
Stories from a wonderful
Australian writer, who deals
with diverse subjects:
crime, the supernatural,
humor, murder, the macabre,
the unusual, and the
resilience of men and women.
These stories capture the
irony of human existence and
humanity's never-ending
struggle to make sense of
our world.
The
book is available online at:

I
would like to wish everyone
who has written or emailed
me with their kind thoughts,
and told me how much they
enjoyed my books, the best
for the holiday season and
New Year 2007. I
have been touched by the
number of cards I have
received this Christmas,
and although I am unable to
reply to you all, I thank
you most sincerely.
2007
is going to be another busy writing
year for me, as well as
attending the RWA Conference
in Dallas. Maybe I'll
see some of you there!

"PASSIONS
OF THE GHOST
is one of
the most
magical
paranormals
I have read
this year.
Ms.
MacKenzie
pens an
alluring
tale that
drew this
reader in
from the
very first
page.
I did not
put this
charming
tale down
until the
last word
was read.
I laughed at
the witty
bantering
and cried
when two
lovely
people find
a rare love
that makes
them
complete.
Amy is a
lost soul
looking to
get away
from the
life she has
led.
Reynald is
another lost
soul trying
to make his
past
mistakes
right again.
I adore both
of these
very unusual
characters.
Making the
story even
more
complete are
the
secondary
characters
that are
vibrant and
sassy.
Ms.
MacKenzie
pens a plot
that is
thick and
spell-binding.
If you are
looking for
a tale that
will leave
you wholly
satisfied
and all warm
and fuzzy
inside, then
I highly
recommend
PASSIONS OF
THE GHOST.
I will be
heading to
the
bookstore to
gobble up
all of Ms.
Mackenzie’s
books."

Well,
I've had my
first review
of PASSIONS OF
THE GHOST on
the Romance
Junkies
website and
it's fabulous.
Five stars! Take
a look (it
should be up
soon) http://www.romancejunkies.com/mainpage.html
I
am currently
working on my
next Sara
Bennett book,
which will be
published in
2008, and
after that it
will be full
steam ahead on
the next three
paranormal
books. I
can't wait to
start. I
have some
great ideas
already.
Happy
reading!

SECRETS
OF THE
HIGHWAYMAN is in
the bookstores!
And I have had
some great
feedback. If
you want to see
a five rose
review, go to A
Romance Review
at the address
below
Some
readers have
been confused
by the fact
that the
Sorceress was
called the
Fiosaiche in RETURN
OF THE
HIGHLANDER,
and is now a
Queen in
SECRETS OF THE
HIGHWAYMAN.
In PASSIONS OF
THE GHOST she
is a Witch.
This is
because each
of the
Immortal
Warriors sees
her
differently,
depending upon
his background
and beliefs.
But it is the
same
Sorceress,
ruler of
the
between-worlds.

Many
apologies! My
website is up again after
a mixup with another
customer of my website
host. Phew! I
hate it when things go
wrong on my computer
or my website.
Everything is wonderful
when it's working, but
then if it goes wrong
and has to be fixed it
never seems to be a simple
process. I rely
very much on my website to
reach readers in other
parts of the world, and
when it's not there I
admit to feeling lost.
Hopefully
everything will be fine
from now on ;)

Firstly,
I have to apologise for
taking so long to write
again. I have an
excuse, though! I have
been finishing my Sara
Bennett book about
Francesca, the third
Greentree sister. The
book is called MISTRESS OF
SCANDAL, and will go on sale
in April 2007.
Good
news, too, for the Immortal
Warriors. Avon have
asked me to do another
trilogy of books.
Can't wait to get started! But
I better not get ahead of
myself. The second
Immortal Warrior's book will
be out at the end of this
month. SECRETS OF THE
HIGHWAYMAN is the story of
the Raven, and you can read
about him on the My Books
page. I've also put up
an excerpt for PASSIONS OF
THE GHOST, to give you
a sneak preview.
There
seem to be so many great
paranormal authors around at
the moment. Two definitely
worth a look are Keri Arthur
http://www.keriarthur.com/ and
Cheers!

Finally,
RETURN OF THE
HIGHLANDER is
officially for
sale! It
feels like ages
since I began
writing the book.
I'm hoping you
will all like it
so much you'll
want to read the
other two books.
And the good news
is I'll be
working on another
trilogy of
paranormal books
for Avon.
Although related
to the current
Immortal Warriors
series, this time
I'll be going
darker, and deeper
into the world
I've created.
I can't wait to
start.
And
for those of you
with ambitions to
be writers, Avon
has a great new
site coming in
August. Go
to www.avonfanlit.com/authorsite
and take a look.
Cheers,
Sara
Sunday 2nd July

I
have been catching
up with all my
emails and letters;
dealing with the
more serious side
of the business of
being a writer. I
find that the more
books I sell the
more work I create
for myself.
Don't get me
wrong, I'm not
complaining, but
it's something
that non-writers
probably don't
realise. At
the moment I am
designing a
bookmark to send
to bookstores for
promotion, and
I'll also be able
to send it to
conferences or use
it in my contests. A
writer friend
suggested I also
make some signed bookplates.
It's also about
time I sent
out a newsletter
to all of you who request
a regular update
on my books.
By
the way, I've had
some fabulous
reviews for RETURN
OF THE HIGHLANDER.
That's something
else I must do,
add the reviews to
the front
page of this
website . . .
Bye
now,
Sara

Wednesday

May 2006
This
is my first entry
in My Journal,
something I’m
hoping will become
a regular
occurrence.
I have
recently finished
writing three
books, one after
another, in a very
short space of
time, and I’m
more than happy
with the result
and I’m hoping
you will be, too.
I’m about
to get to work on
my next book, but
I thought I’d
take some time out
first to play with
this website.
I never
seem to have
enough time for
the extras that go
with being a
writer and I wish
I did.
I love
answering emails
and running
contests and
adding bits of
information to my
websites, but I
know the writing
is important, too.
Unfortunately
I find it very
easy to fritter
away the hours and
not write a single
word.
Research,
that’s another
of my enjoyable
ways of wasting
time.
At the
moment I’m
reading lots of
books about the
paranormal;
wonderful creepy
stuff!
I’m in
the planning
stages for my next
Sara Mackenzie
book, and it’s
fun.
The actual
writing is the
hard part.
Speaking of
which, I’d
better get back to
it.
Goodbye
until next time,
Sara
